A four-member delegation led by President Xu Xingqing of Chinese Culture University visited NCUT on 6June. President Ding Hui and Vice-President Shen Zhili met with the guests in Room 302, Dunpin Building. Related officers of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office, School of Humanities and Law and School of Science also attended this meeting.
During the meeting, President Ding Hui extended his warm welcome to the delegation from Chinese Culture University. Then he delivered an overview of NCUT’s historical development, departments and programmes, main features, etc. Afterwards, Vice-President Shen Zhili gave an introduction of NCUT’s overall picture including scientific research, and activities with HEIs in Hong Kong, Macaw and Taiwan. Presideng Xu Xingqing expressed his thankfulness for the hospitality from NCUT. He then introduced the general situation of Chinese Culture University, hoping this visit could serve as a starting point for future communication in fields of sports, technology, and teaching between the two universities. He also suggested that by giving full play to the advantages and discipline characteristics of the two universities, great efforts should be made in collaborations in scientific researches and discipline construction, so as to provide a wider arena for students and staff on both sides, and to steadily promote all-round development of both universities.
Located in Taipei City, Chinese University of Culture was founded in 1962. Focusing on humanities, society, science and technology, it contains 12 colleges, involving fields of literature, foreign languages, science, law, social sciences, agriculture, engineering, business, journalism and mass communications, art, environmental design and education. With 60 departments for bachelor’s programmes, 42 for master’s and 10 for Ph.D, Chinese Culture University is the most comprehensive and multidisciplinary university in Taiwan District.
