Online Meeting with Tashkent National Technical University in Uzbekistan

On the afternoon of November 2nd, International Office held an online meeting with its peer at Tashkent State Technical University(TSTU) to exchange ideas regarding cooperation, aiming to actively deepen partnership with universities in countries of the Belt and Road Initiative.

The main discussion topic is surrounded with student cultivation and scientific researches. Attendees of TSTU included Shavkat Azimov, director of the International Office and related project responsible persons, and that of NCUT saw Han Fei, director of International Office, Xu Mei, associate director o of International Office, Song Wei, associate dean of International School, and Zhang Guichen, associate director o of International Office, and relevant project staffs.

Director Han Fei said that since the establishment of friendly relations between two universities in 2018, the cooperative projects have been carried out well. He hoped that TSTU would send more outstanding students to participate in our joint projects, and also encouraged two universities to find a way in scientific research cooperation.

Associate Director Xu Mei introduced the current return policies for international students, encouraging and welcoming TSTU students to come back to study on campus. She expected both offices would work closer to negotiate and solve the problems that students faced during the epidemic. Associate Dean Song Wei first introduced the latest training plan of NCUT's electronic information engineering, then reviewed the path we had walked together through. Based on the common ground of our matching education and training models, both sides should be inspired to further promote the implementation of student exchange projects and strengthen our cooperative relationship.

NCUT has established cooperation with TSTU since 2018, and has launched double degrees and exchange programs. At present, there are 6 students from TSTU studying for the double-degree program of electronic information engineering in School of Information at NCUT.

Founded in 1918, Tashkent State Technical University (TSTU) is one of the oldest universities in Uzbekistan. Currently, the university consists of 6 faculties that train highly skilled professionals in the fields of technology and engineering. As of this year, TSTU has 56 majors, 10,746 students, and a faculty team with 6 academicians with titles in the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan.
