On October 28, a delegation led by Rasim Akpınar, Rector of Izmir Bakircay University in Türkiye, visited NCUT. Li Quanming, Vice President of NCUT, met the delegation to discuss student education, academic development, and research strengths.
Li welcomed the delegation and outlined NCUT's distinctive strengths, academic disciplines, student education system, research achievements, and international engagement. He noted that Türkiye has a strong industrial base and, as an emerging economy, is among the world's fastest-developing countries. He said NCUT places great importance on friendly exchanges and lasting partnerships with Turkish universities. NCUT would seek to sign an inter-university exchange agreement as soon as possible, starting with short-term student programs and gradually developing student exchanges and dual-degree programs. It would also strengthen reciprocal faculty exchanges to provide more varied international learning and exchange opportunities for faculty and students at both universities.
Akpınar introduced Izmir Bakircay University's location advantages, distinctive disciplines, research facilities, and international exchanges. He said that, although the university was founded relatively recently, it has developed rapidly, expanded its range of disciplines, and achieved notable results in international education. He welcomed the opportunity to establish ties with NCUT and invited NCUT students to pursue further study in Türkiye. He also hoped that Turkish students would take part in NCUT's exchange programs to deepen their understanding of China, and encouraged faculty at both universities to pursue academic exchanges and research collaboration to advance exchanges in both directions.
During the meeting, Professor Ji Xuehong, Director of the MBA Education Center at NCUT's School of Economics and Management, outlined NCUT's development in business administration and models for cooperation in MBA education. The two sides exchanged views on faculty and student visits and research collaboration in economics and management, reaching preliminary agreement on these areas of cooperation. After the meeting, Akpınar visited NCUT's history museum and laboratories.
Founded in 2016 in Izmir, Türkiye, Izmir Bakircay University is a comprehensive public university with faculties covering the humanities and social sciences, economics and administrative sciences, engineering and architecture, health sciences, law, and medicine. It offers undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs and has several research institutes and a hospital. The university has developed rapidly in recent years and ranks among Türkiye's top 30 universities. Its disciplines in law, cardiology, economics, and management also rank highly among Turkish universities.
