On the afternoon of July 10th, a delegation from Moscow State University of Russia, led by Tatiana Bukhtiyarova, Assistant to the President (International Affairs) and Director of the Confucius Institute on the Russian side, visited our university. Wang Jianwen, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC North China University of Technology Committee, Vice President , met with the guests in Room 322 of Dunpin Building.
Wang Jianwen warmly welcomed the delegation from Moscow State University and introduced the basic situation and internationalization of our university. He mentioned that our two universities have many similar disciplines and expressed the hope that the two institutions could engage in inter-university cooperation through short-term academic visits, student exchanges, and dual-degree programs to facilitate in-depth exchanges between faculty and students.
Tatiana spoke highly of the high-level applied disciplines and distinctive educational features of our university. She introduced the history and disciplinary characteristics of Moscow State University, as well as the development of the Confucius Institute, expressing the willingness of the Confucius Institute at Moscow State University to send high-quality students to NCUT to study Chinese language and academic courses. She also proposed organizing student participation in Chinese cultural experiences and short-term Chinese language learning programs offered by our university, and suggested jointly developing engineering Chinese textbooks and online courses. She emphasized the importance of strengthening academic exchange activities between the two universities.
During the visit, the delegation from Moscow State University visited our university's historical exhibition hall and had in-depth discussions with representatives of Chinese language teachers regarding Chinese language teaching and the development of professional Chinese language textbooks.
Moscow State University, also known as Lomonosov Moscow State University, was founded in 1755 and is the largest and oldest comprehensive research university in the Russian Federation. It consists of 16 departments, including Mechanics and Mathematics, Computational Mathematics and Control Theory, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Soil Science, Geology, Geography, History, Language and Literature, Philosophy, Economics, Law, Journalism, and Psychology, offering a total of 460 majors. Moscow State University has produced 13 Nobel laureates and 6 Fields Medalists. The Confucius Institute at Moscow State University was established in October 2008 and is one of the earliest Confucius Institutes in Russia.
