On September 6th, Jin Weiwei, the Assistant to the President and Director of the Asia Center at Kansai Gaidai University in Japan, visited NCUT. Wang Jianwen, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC North China University of Technology Committee, Vice President, met with the guests in Room 322 of Dunpin Building and held a friendly discussion.

Wang Jianwen warmly welcomed Jin Weiwei and reviewed the history of friendly exchanges between the two universities. He introduced the recent developments in enrollment, teaching, research, and internationalization at our university. He expressed the hope that the two universities can gradually resume offline exchanges between students and faculty, explore new programs, provide more platforms for communication, and welcome students and faculty from Kansai Gaidai University to visit and exchange at our university. Jin Weiwei positively responded to Wang Jianwen's proposal to deepen and broaden the cooperation between the two universities. He also introduced the international exchange development at Kansai Gaidai University, especially the student exchange programs, and welcomed our students and faculty to study and engage in academic exchanges in Japan. Both parties exchanged views on matters related to student exchange programs, short-term student programs, and faculty visits.

Kansai Gaidai University is a private university located in Osaka Prefecture, Japan, established in 1945. Currently, it has over 11,400 students, with 1,297 students participating in international exchange programs during the 2022-2023 academic year. The university has 164 foreign teachers and has established friendly cooperative relationships with 395 institutions in 55 countries and regions worldwide, with nearly 960 international students. Since the signing of the inter-university cooperation agreement in 2007, our university has been receiving an average of 60 Kansai Gaidai students each year to study Chinese, while sending approximately 10 students for dual degrees and 3 exchange students to Kansai Gaidai University.
