On January 5th, our university held an online conference with the University of Mississippi in the United States and had in-depth exchanges on the current programs development situation and future cooperation between two universities. Noel E. Wilkin , Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs of the University of Mississippi attended the meeting. Wang Jianwen, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC North China University of Technology Committee, Vice President attended and presided over the meeting.
Wang Jianwen introduced the characteristics and international development of NCUT , reviewed the achievements made in student exchange programs between the two universities during recent years. He suggested that the two sides continue to promote the implementation of student programs such as double degree, exchange students, and short-term summer exchange programs, further improve the level and quality of the programs , and provide high-quality resources for the joint training of international talents. He hoped that the two sides would further expand cooperation in the fields of academic lectures, teacher exchanges, scientific research and other fields so as to help the high-quality development of international education between the two universities.
Noel E. Wilkin introduced the basic situation of the University of Mississippi，which is renowned for its outstanding scientific research and beautiful campus. The university of Mississippi has always attached great importance on the friendly relationship with NCUT. The pragmatic and effective exchange programs between us has brought about substantive progress in the international development of both sides. He said that they will gradually promote cooperation in other related fields and promote the implementation of the 2023 summer program in China as soon as possible.
The University of Mississippi (affectionately known as Ole Miss) was established in the 19th century. It is a research-oriented comprehensive university and has been rated as one of the universities with the highest research activity by the Carnegie Classification for many years. NCUT and the University of Mississippi have established an inter-school cooperation relationship since 2015. A total of 214 students have been sent to the University of Mississippi to participate in various overseas exchange and study programs. The University of Mississippi has sent more than 20 students to our university to participate in short-term summer exchange programs. Since 2018, our university has introduced and adopted the teaching system of the University of Mississippi, and held two international training classes in the fields of electronic information engineering and international economics and trade.
