On the evening of June 21st, the 2023 Graduation Gala for international students, hosted by the International School, was held in the Multi-functional Auditorium of the Student Services Building. Wang Jianwen, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC North China University of Technology Committee, Vice President , attended the gala and delivered a speech. Leaders from relevant schools, class advisors, counselors, all international graduates and some of their families, totaling more than 80 people, attended the gala.
In his speech, Wang Jianwen extended sincere congratulations to the 50 international graduates from 14 countries. He hoped that all the students would become friendly ambassadors of spreading Chinese culture and serve as bridges to connect China and other countries. He encouraged them to bring back the knowledge and skills they have learned to their home countries, contribute to construction of the "Belt and Road initiative" , and promote the economic development and common progress of various countries.
GOZHO AMANDA , a Zimbabwean graduate, expressed gratitude for the care and education provided by the university and teachers over the years. She also announced that she has been successfully awarded a full scholarship to pursue her master's degree at Chang'an University. She will continue to strive and work hard on the path of scientific research to achieve her dreams. BATSUKH ANUDARI, a Mongolian graduate, expressed heartfelt thanks to NCUT for providing the excellent learning environment, abundant library resources,and good internship opportunities. She said that she will soon join the MCS Group, the second largest taxpayer in Mongolia, and continue to work hard, promoting friendly cultural exchanges between China and Mongolia.
The gala proceeded in four chapters: "Autumn Encounter," "Winter keeping faith," "Spring Hope," and "Summer a new journey ." Through the form of songs, dances, recitations, and short videos, the international students recollected their beautiful memories of four years university life and expressed the bittersweet feeling of leaving campus. Six student, namely, ENKHTAIVAN MANDAKHNAR from Mongolia, ENKHTAIVAN MANDAKHNAR from Sri Lanka,VILLEDA TORRES from El Salvador, ASMA AHMED RASSAM from Yemen, CHOI YEYOON, and HA JISU from South Korea , recited classic poems including "Moon Night," "A traveler’s Song," and "slow, slow Tune" with great emotion and eloquence, perfectly capturing the beauty and delicate emotions of Chinese poetry, which earned them applause from the audience. Letlatsa Senate Maureen from Lesotho sang "Firework," encouraging graduates to strive for progress, explore the future, resonating deeply with the audience. Kozimjonov Boburbek and six other international students from Uzbekistan, performed an energetic street dance medley "DO IT," immediately bringing the atmosphere to its climax. The gala also showcased award-winning works from competitions held among universities in Beijing such as "China Story: Let Me Tell You", where international students told their stories with China vividly in Chinese, not only showcasing their achievements in learning the language , but also expressing their deep love for China. Finally, the gala concluded with the good wishes sending from graduates, saying "Thank you, teachers," "North China University of Technology, I love you," and "China, I love you."
Amidst the joyous gathering and the impending separation, the international students celebrated their youth at the graduation gala, turning their songs into blessings and their dances into strength, writing the story of their time as classmates. With courage and determination, they will set sail on their journey, breaking through the waves. Tomorrow, carrying the earnest expectations from their teachers and the heartfelt blessings from their friends, the international students will embark on a new journey from North China University of Technology, bravely pursuing their dreams and sailing far.
