On October 4th, Stanford University and Elsevier Data Repository released the "2023 Global Top 2% Scientists List" (Stanford University Top 2 Scientists List 2023). Professor Zhang Lifeng, the president of NCUT, and Professor Li Jianlin and Professor Yang Haitao from the School of Electrical and Control Engineering were included in the "Lifetime Scientific Impact List".
This list is the result of a collaboration between Professor John P. A. Ioannidis' team from Stanford University and Elsevier. It was published on the Mendeley Data website, which is owned by Elsevier. The list uses six comprehensive indicators (c-score), including paper citations, h-index, and the co-author adjusted hm-index, to select the top 2% scientists from nearly 7 million scientists worldwide. It reflects the scientists' influence globally and their outstanding contributions to the development of their respective fields. The selected scientists are from 22 scientific disciplines and 174 sub-disciplines.
The "Global Top 2% Scientists List" is categorized into the "Lifetime Scientific Impact List" (which focuses on the overall impact throughout the academic career) and the "Annual Scientific Impact List" (which focuses on the academic achievements of the current year). In the updated list, Professor Zhang Lifeng, Professor Li Jianlin, and Professor Yang Haitao from NCUT were included in the "Lifetime Scientific Impact List", while Professor Zhang Lifeng, Professor Zhang Xiaoguang, Professor Yang Haitao, Professor Li Jianlin, Professor Pang Zhonghua, and Professor Zheng Chao were included in the "Annual Scientific Impact List".
