On September 28th, a delegation from the Institute of Underground Energy Systems and the Research Center for Energy Storage Technology at Clausthal University of Technology in Germany, led by Professor Micheael Zhengmeng Hou, visited our university. Zhang Lifeng, President of NCUT, held a meeting with the guests in Room 302 of the Dunpin Building, and Wang Jianwen,Vice President of our university, chaired the meeting.
Zhang Lifeng warmly welcomed the guests and had friendly exchanges with them. He stated that both universities have a distinct engineering background, and majors such as mechanical engineering, materials, and civil engineering have high complementarity in terms of faculty and student resources, with good potential for cooperative development. He hoped that both sides could actively explore multi-level faculty and student exchange projects to enhance the quality and effectiveness of international exchanges between the two universities. Wang Jianwen briefly introduced the situation of our university, the international development of education and teaching, and proposed to expand diversified faculty and student exchange projects based on similar teaching majors and research areas, creating opportunities for faculty and student exchanges between the two universities. Micheael Zhengmeng Hou briefly introduced the history, characteristics, and scale of Clausthal University of Technology and responded to our university's proposal for cooperation, stating that the two sides could initiate preliminary cooperation in student short-term exchange projects, graduate student training, and faculty training, in order to explore further in-depth teaching and research cooperation.
Afterwards, the participants had detailed exchanges on specific situations. Han Fei, Director of the Office of International Affairs and Dean of the International School of our university, made a detailed introduction to our university's discipline settings, student training priorities, main research areas, and internationalization achievements. Liu Fengbin, Dean of the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, Ji Yingbo, Dean of the School of Civil Engineering, Li Quanming, Dean of the Institute of Science and Technology, and Sun Shiguo, a doctoral supervisor in the School of Civil Engineering, respectively introduced the overall situation of their schools, the university's research situation, and the key areas of risk research.
Heinz Palkowski, Director of the Materials Forming Teaching and Research Office of the Metallurgical Institute of Clausthal University of Technology, Wolfgang Schade, Director of the Research Center for Energy Storage Technology , Lara Madeleine Gottfried, General Secretary of the China Capacity Center, and Ye Yue, a doctoral student at the Institute of Underground Energy Systems, introduced their respective teaching and research and the situation of the China Capacity Center.
After the meeting, the delegation visited the City Safety Emerging Risk Related Laboratory of the School of Civil Engineering, High-Strength Steel Research Center and the Roll Forming Laboratory of the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering.
