On the evening of June 14th, the 2024 Graduation Gala for International Students was grandly held in the Multi-functional Auditorium of the Student Services Building. Wang Jianwen, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC North China University of Technology Committee, Vice President, attended the gala and delivered a speech. Leaders from relevant schools, class advisors, counselors, and all international graduates, totaling more than 100 people, attended the gala.
In his speech, Wang Jianwen extended sincere congratulations to the graduating international students of 2024. He reflected on their academic journey and achievements at NCUT, praising their relentless efforts in completing various academic tasks and continuously pushing their limits. He expressed his hope that they would continue to learn new knowledge, enhance their skills, and contribute to society by bringing what they have learned back to their home countries. He also encouraged them to become friendly ambassadors of spreading Chinese culture and serve as bridges to connect China and other countries, contributing to the construction of the "Belt and Road Initiative”, and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
KAMADA HONAMI, an intern from Japan, recalled her learning and living experiences in China, stating that her fond memories at NCUT would inspire her to strive for future success. BOULOULNA WIWA BADAWE YASMINE, a Cameroonian graduate, expressed gratitude for the support from the university, all teachers, and her parents over the years, encouraging all graduates to continue facing challenges and forging ahead. ATWINE PATIENCE, a Ugandan graduate, thanked the university for providing an excellent learning environment and education, emphasizing that with belief in oneself and hard work, yesterday's "impossible" can become today's success.
The gala proceeded in four chapters: " First Arrival," " NCUT Moments," " Experiencing China," and "Happy Times." Through the form of songs, dances, recitations, and short videos, the international students recollected their beautiful memories of four years of university life and expressed the bittersweet feeling of leaving campus. MAMEDOVA FARIDA from Turkmenistan, BENGALA OYONO SAMUEL HENRI from Cameroonian, and BATDELGER ALTANTUUL from Mongolian recited the prose poem "We Graduated," vividly and emotionally recounting the university's memorable moments, resonating strongly with the graduates present. NKULU KILUMBA CYNTHIA from Congolese (DRC) sang "Congratulations," encouraging her fellow graduates to strive forward and explore the future boldly, with her passionate voice captivating the audience. Rwandan student Shyaka David‘s dynamic street dance performance energized the crowd and brought the atmosphere to its peak.
The gala concluded with the graduates expressing their gratitude with shouts of "Thank you, teachers," "NCUT—we love you," and "China—we love you."
