On June 19, the 2024 Summary and Commendation Conference for the "Youth Traveling Thousands of Miles" University Student Summer Social Practice and the 2025 Mobilization Conference were held in the Lecture Hall of Guangxue Building. Shi Zhenjun, Deputy Secretary of the CPC North China University of Technology Committee, attended the conference. Heads of departments including the Personnel Office (Teacher Work Department), Academic Affairs Office, Student Work Department (Graduate Work Department), and Publicity Department, Deputy Secretaries of the Party Committees and Secretaries of the Youth League Committees of various schools, and more than 300 teacher-student representatives from social practice groups participated in the conference. Yang Chao, Secretary of the Communist Youth League Committee of North China University of Technology, chaired the meeting.
Teachers and students present watched a video showcasing our university's 2024 summer social practice, reviewing the achievements of over 2,000 teachers and students in the "walking great ideological and political course" and witnessing the high-spirited demeanor of NCUT students echoing with the times. Cao Jingyi, a counselor from School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering and an outstanding instructor representative, shared that as a "veteran" who lived with students and stayed up to revise manuscripts last year, she will "teach methods thoroughly and ensure safety to the end" this year to be a "reliable companion" on their practice journey. Miao Yue, a teacher from School of Marxism, stated that as an ideological and political course instructor, guiding students not only broke barriers between disciplines but also deepened her understanding of the collaborative education value between ideological and political courses and curriculum-based ideological and political education. The "Xianghi Cunyun" practice group from School of Economics and Management and the "Heart Connected to Hometown · Walking with Ning" group from the School of Humanities and Law shared their experiences in preparation, practice processes, and achievement implementation.
In 2024, our university had 8 practice teams, 7 teachers, and 7 students awarded as Beijing Excellent Teams, Advanced Workers, and Advanced Individuals in the "Youth Serving the Country" Capital University Student Summer Social Practice. Attending leaders presented honorary certificates to the winning teams and individuals.
Yang Chao introduced the overall plan for our university's 2025 university student summer social practice, and Sun Zongrui presented flags to the 2025 practice groups of each college.
Shi Zhenjun fully affirmed our university's 2024 summer social practice achievements and expressed gratitude to the dedicated teachers and students. He emphasized that all should go to where the motherland and people need them most, and contribute youth to China's modernization. First, be patriotic, firm ideals in practice, and cultivate family-country feelings while serving the nation. Second, apply knowledge, develop skills, and enhance problem-solving abilities to become capable pillars. Third, show courage, carry forward the fighting spirit, face challenges without fear, and build a safety awareness. Shi particularly stressed safety: Youth League Committees at all levels should formulate safety plans, adjust schedules dynamically, and ensure personal safety; practice group members must implement safety responsibilities across all links, unblock communication, and strengthen real-time liaison.
After the mobilization meeting, the University Youth League Committee conducted pre-trip training for practice group members, detailing plan formulation, itinerary arrangement, fund use, and publicity. In 2025, our university focuses on the theme "Strengthening Beliefs, Caring for the Country, Practicing Skills, and Being Brave to Take Responsibility," continuing 4 categories and 15 projects, including the Ideological Greatness Path, Rejuvenation Path, Service Path, and Responsibility Path. In line with requirements from central authorities like the Communist Youth League Central Committee and Beijing Municipal Education Work Committee, it will also organize the "Qingcai Hui Pinggu, Together Tall, Elegant and Fashionable" Capital University "Thousands of People and Hundreds of Villages" internship, attracting nearly 2,800 students to form over 500 teams. Our University will expand practice participation, deepen exploration, and enhance humanistic care, guiding students to receive education, grow, and contribute in the "walking ideological and political course."
