From June 18 to 19, Agnès Henri, General Manager of EDP Sciences, and her delegation, as well as James Finlay, Global Vice President of Applied Science Books at Springer Nature Group, and his delegation visited NCUT for exchanges. Zhang Lifeng, President of NCUT, held talks with the visiting guests in Conference Room 302 of the Dunpin Building. Chen Qun, Vice President of NCUT, presided over the meeting.
Zhang Lifeng first introduced the general situation of our university's history, talent cultivation, scientific research characteristics, and international education. Starting from the needs of teachers' paper publication and monograph publishing, he hoped to promote the scientific research achievements of NCUT teachers through internationally renowned academic publishing platforms, so as to continuously enhance the international influence of our university's disciplinary achievements. Agnès Henri introduced the development history and main business of EDP Sciences, and discussed the new challenges and trends faced by the current book publishing industry. She expressed the hope to carry out cooperation with our university, combining the academic resources of our university's experts with the industry and international influence of the publishing house to enhance the visibility and reputation of our university's academic research at home and abroad through multiple channels. James Finlay introduced the history and current development of Springer Nature Group, systematically sorted out the situation of journals and books published by NCUT teachers in Springer Nature, and expressed the willingness to carry out book cooperation.
There are many outstanding teachers and researchers in our university who have close connections with the disciplinary fields concerned by the two publishing houses. The university and EDP Sciences, as well as Springer Nature Group, respectively exchanged substantive cooperation intentions, hoping to further enhance the ability of our university's researchers to obtain international academic publishing information and publication opportunities, and further improve the comprehensive research strength and international reputation of our university.
The heads of the Institute of Science and Technology and the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges of our university participated in the two talks and introduced the basic situation of our university journal respectively. During the visit, the delegates also toured our High-Quality Steel Laboratory and Intelligent Manufacturing Laboratory.
