On June 17, Brunel London School grandly held the 2025 Commencement and Brunel University of London Degree Conferring Ceremony in the Lecture Hall of Guangxue Building. Zhang Lifeng, President of NCUT, Trevor Hoey, Vice President of Brunel University of London, and Chen Qun, Vice President of NCUT, attended the ceremony. More than 350 people, including the main responsible persons from School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, School of Artificial Intelligence and Computer, School of Civil Engineering, School of Science, and Brunel London School of our university and relevant professional responsible persons, class tutors of graduating classes, all graduates of the class of 2025, parent representatives, all faculty members of the school, and student ceremony spectators, jointly witnessed this grand moment.
Trevor Hoey announced the opening of the ceremony. He extended warm congratulations to the second batch of graduates jointly cultivated by the two universities and pointed out that the remarkable achievements made by the graduates fully confirmed the vision of choosing the cooperative education project between the two universities at the beginning. He affectionately encouraged the graduates to be full of confidence and courage, apply the knowledge and skills they have learned, and grow into the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and innovators as soon as possible, contributing to shaping a beautiful future for global society. He looked forward to the two universities continuing to deepen cooperation, expanding broader development horizons for students, promoting cross-cultural exchanges, and making greater contributions to global development and the cause of world higher education.
Chen Qun expressed heartfelt congratulations to the class of 2025 graduates who successfully completed their studies in his speech, praising the students' eye-catching "report cards" as inspiring, which are the best footnote to the successful practice of the two universities in jointly cultivating globally competitive talents. He earnestly hoped that all graduates would hold the country and the world in the heart, care about the development of their alma mater, and strive to become excellent problem solvers for the future world, positive connectors who warm the world, and pioneers who ride the waves in the tide of the times.
Liu Zekun, the graduate representative, affectionately reviewed the four-year growth process, expressing infinite gratitude to his alma mater and beautiful longings for the future.
Matthias Maischak, the British side person in charge of the Big Data major (Sino-foreign cooperative education), presided over the degree conferring ceremony. All graduates stepped onto the stage in turn, took group photos with the presidents of the two universities, and received the degree certificates of London Brunel University.
The ceremony commended outstanding graduates and winners of excellent graduation theses. Three outstanding graduates and three winners of excellent graduation theses stepped onto the stage to receive awards amid applause.
Graduate representatives led the singing of the songs Sea and Sky and Betrayed Youth. Accompanied by the melodious singing, precious pictures of campus study and life flashed back on the big screen, evoking the beautiful memories of all teachers and students present and triggering strong emotional resonance.
After the ceremony was successfully concluded, the attending teachers and students took precious group photos in front of Guangxue Building.
The successful departure of the second batch of graduates from the Brunel London School marks the opening of a new chapter in the high-quality development of the cooperative education cause between our university and Brunel University of London.
