On April 15, a delegation led by Uktam Salomov, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan, visited our university. Zhang Lifeng, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee and President of NCUT, met with the delegation. Chen Qun and Li Quanming, Members of the University Party Committee Standing Committee and Vice Presidents, attended the meeting.
The two sides held in-depth exchanges on key matters including the preparation and application promotion for the establishment of the China-Uzbekistan “Belt and Road” Joint Laboratory on New Energy and Energy Storage.
During the meeting, Zhang Lifeng shared his views with the delegation from three aspects: the contemporary and strategic significance of China-Uzbekistan cooperation on new energy and energy storage, the profound origin and solid foundation of the long-standing cooperation between NCUT and Uzbekistan, as well as the great significance of the joint laboratory in achieving mutual benefit and win-win results.
Salomov stated that the joint construction of the “Belt and Road” Joint Laboratory is of great and far-reaching significance, and that he would actively support our university in the application of the joint laboratory.
It is reported that Deputy Minister Salomov and his delegation are visiting China at the invitation of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China to attend the 7th Meeting of the Subcommittee on Science and Technology Cooperation under the China-Uzbekistan Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee.
During the meeting, the delegation specially arranged a discussion with our university on the project establishment of the “Belt and Road” Joint Laboratory, focusing on the construction of a national-level international science and technology cooperation platform, so as to further deepen and substantiate China-Uzbekistan cooperation in cutting-edge fields such as new energy and energy storage.
Officials from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges and the Research Institute of Science and Technology of our university attended the meeting.
This meeting represents an important measure for our university to deepen scientific and research cooperation with official institutions and universities in Uzbekistan, and to support the national high-quality joint construction of the “Belt and Road” scientific and technological innovation initiative. The two sides agreed to take the joint laboratory as the core platform to strengthen collaborative scientific and technological innovation, joint talent training and the transformation of technological achievements, continuously expand the breadth and depth of cooperation in education and technology, and contribute to the building of a China-Uzbekistan community with a shared future.
