University Secures China Government Scholarship Support for International Summer School Programs for Second Consecutive Year
April 21 ,2026

Recently, the China Scholarship Council (CSC) announced the results of the 2026 Study in China: International Summer School program. Two programs proposed by the University—International Summer Camp on Artificial Intelligence and Belt and Road Joint Laboratory Research Program—have been approved for China Government Scholarship funding. This marks the second consecutive year the University has been selected, following its initial success in 2025.

In 2025, the University was approved for the program for the first time and delivered both projects with high quality. The Artificial Intelligence Summer Camp attracted 17 international students from Sunway University (Malaysia) and Ulyanovsk State Technical University (Russia). Featuring an integrated model of coursework, laboratory practice, industry visits, and cultural activities, the program received strong positive feedback from participants and partner institutions.

The Belt and Road Joint Laboratory Research Program enrolled 35 faculty members and doctoral students from six partner universities in Uzbekistan. Focusing on intelligent manufacturing, new materials, and new energy, the program facilitated academic seminars and joint research. Participants co-authored 11 academic papers and organized 19 thematic lectures and 25 academic workshops, yielding solid collaborative outcomes and further strengthening educational and academic exchanges between Chinese and Uzbek institutions. The program also drew significant attention from Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.

Building on this foundation, the University will continue to advance both flagship summer school programs in 2026. Leveraging its strengths in emerging interdisciplinary fields such as artificial intelligence, advanced materials, energy storage, and intelligent transportation, the programs will center on high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. A professionally designed, internationally oriented curriculum will be offered to outstanding undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students, as well as researchers from partner institutions in Southeast Asia and Central Asia. Through diverse formats—including project-based learning, case-based training, academic seminars, and industry engagement—the programs aim to enhance participants’ understanding of technological innovation and promote international collaboration and knowledge transfer.

Supported by the Ministry of Education, the International Summer School program is a flagship short-term initiative under the Study in China brand. It plays an important role in strengthening China’s appeal as a study destination and fostering platforms for global youth exchange. The University will take this opportunity to further expand partnerships with overseas universities and research institutions, promote the sharing of educational resources, and continuously enhance its international engagement and global impact.
