The Ministry of Education recently announced the latest approval results for Sino-foreign cooperative education programs and institutions. Two programs in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science and Technology, jointly applied for by Brunel London School, the School of Artificial Intelligence and Computer of North China University of Technology, and Brunel University London, have been approved. This marks new progress in the university’s efforts to respond to China’s strategy of opening up education and to support Beijing in building itself into an important education center with global influence.

Approved by the Ministry of Education in 2020, Brunel London School is the first Sino-British cooperative education institution among Beijing municipal universities, jointly established by North China University of Technology and Brunel University London. Since its establishment, the School has remained student-centered, built on the engineering strengths of both universities, and worked to cultivate high-quality international talent with a strong sense of responsibility to the country and society. The employment rates of its 2024 and 2025 graduates both exceeded 92 percent, demonstrating high-quality and full employment. The quality of its talent cultivation has been widely recognized by leading universities and well-known enterprises at home and abroad. In 2026, the School successfully passed the Ministry of Education’s evaluation of Sino-foreign cooperative education institutions, marking authoritative recognition of its achievements in education quality, admissions management, internationalization at home, and broader impact.

With the approval of the two new cooperative programs, Brunel London School will offer five programs: Artificial Intelligence (program code: 080717TH), with a planned annual enrollment of 100 students; Computer Science and Technology (program code: 080901H), with a planned annual enrollment of 100 students; Data Science and Big Data Technology (program code: 080910TH), with a planned annual enrollment of 120 students; Mechanical Design, Manufacture and Automation (program code: 080202H), with a planned annual enrollment of 120 students; and Civil Engineering (program code: 081001H), with a planned annual enrollment of 100 students. The School will further expand its scale and optimize its program structure. Focusing on the transformation driven by the age of artificial intelligence, it will promote deeper integration between academic programs and AI, and build new systematic strengths in cultivating urgently needed talent in areas such as AI infrastructure, intelligent manufacturing, and intelligent construction.

Going forward, Brunel London School will build on the experience and strengths it has developed over the past six years in Sino-foreign cooperative education. Taking the approval of the new programs as an opportunity, the School will further strengthen faculty development and its quality assurance system, promote innovation in teaching and research, and better align talent cultivation with social and industrial development.
