Brunel London School Passes Ministry of Education Evaluation for Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education Institutions

On May 11, the Beijing Municipal Education Commission issued a notice announcing the official results of the 2024 evaluation of Sino-foreign cooperative education institutions and programs. The evaluation was organized by the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of the Ministry of Education and carried out by the China Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Development Center in accordance with the Regulations on Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education and its implementation measures. Brunel London School of North China University of Technology successfully passed its first qualification evaluation as a Sino-foreign cooperative education institution. This marks authoritative recognition that the School has met national requirements in admissions management, education quality, social reputation, and international cooperation practices.

 

Since its approval in 2020, Brunel London School has fully implemented the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education. Serving the development strategies of the country and Beijing, the School has been committed to cultivating high-caliber engineering talent with a strong sense of responsibility to the country, solid professional knowledge and practical skills, an international perspective, and the ability to understand international rules and participate in global competition. The university and the School have operated in accordance with laws, regulations and agreements, introducing management systems including the Implementation Plan for Program Development of Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education Institutions at North China University of Technology and the Management Measures for Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education at North China University of Technology. These efforts have continuously improved the quality assurance mechanism for cooperative education and gradually built a distinctive engineering-oriented talent cultivation system. The employment rates of the School’s 2024 and 2025 graduates both exceeded 92 percent, demonstrating high-quality and full employment. The quality of its talent cultivation has been widely recognized by leading universities and well-known enterprises at home and abroad.

 

Students of the School have also achieved strong results in further study and academic competitions. Among the two graduating cohorts, more than half were admitted to universities ranked among the top 100 in the QS World University Rankings, including the University of Cambridge, Peking University, Cornell University and Duke University. The average rate of further study exceeded 70 percent, while the overall employment rate exceeded 92 percent. Students have demonstrated strong professional and practical abilities, winning numerous awards in national and international competitions. In 2023 and 2024, they won two first prizes and one third prize at the national level in the “Black Technology” and “Challenge-Taking” special categories of the “Challenge Cup” National College Students’ Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition. In 2025, they received one Finalist Award, one first prize and two second prizes in the Mathematical Contest in Modeling. In the same year, they also won 11 first prizes and 23 second prizes in national competitions including the China College Students’ Engineering Practice and Innovation Competition and the China University Student Computer Design Competition. In 2026, they won one first prize in the national final of the National College Students Mathematics Competition.

Going forward, Brunel London School will follow the evaluation feedback and align its work with the university’s and the School’s 15th Five-Year development plans. It will carry out rectification work carefully, use the evaluation to promote reform, development and improvement. The School will continue to promote innovation in teaching and research, further improve education quality, and work to become a benchmark for high-quality and sustainable Sino-foreign cooperative education.
