Delegation from Oxford Brookes University Visits NCUT

On July 14, Dr Sean Mackney, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Educational Partnerships at Oxford Brookes University, visited NCUT. Chen Qun, Vice President of NCUT, met with the guest for discussions.

Chen Qun welcomed Sean Mackney to NCUT. He noted that Oxford Brookes University has a long history and has developed into one of the United Kingdom’s leading modern universities, with particular strengths in business education. As NCUT approaches its 80th anniversary, the University is advancing the coordinated development of its 2 campuses and continuing to strengthen its disciplinary development. Chen emphasized NCUT’s longstanding commitment to international education. The University currently offers 7 Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run undergraduate programs in partnership with Brunel University of London and the University of Hull, and has established partnerships and faculty and student exchange programs with a number of leading universities worldwide. He expressed the hope that the 2 universities would build on their respective strengths, develop programs that meet the needs of both institutions and their communities, and advance a joint application for a Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run program in business.

Sean Mackney thanked NCUT for its warm reception and introduced the academic structure and disciplinary profile of Oxford Brookes University. He highlighted the University’s 10 years of experience in educational partnerships with Chinese universities and its plans to further expand international education. Building on the 2 universities’ extensive experience in China-UK educational cooperation, he expressed the hope of jointly developing an exemplary cooperative education program in business while exploring further opportunities in engineering education, research, and innovation.

Representatives from NCUT’s School of Economics and Management and Office of International Affairs attended the meeting.
