On the afternoon of May 18th, the "North Sailing" Scientific and Technological Innovation and Research Achievement Transformation Conference of North China University of Technology (NCUT) was grandly held, with experts came together, enterprises gathered, science and education integrated, innovation and production transformed. The conference was indeed a fruitful and grand event.
During the one day event, a grand opening ceremony was held to witness the on-site cooperation agreement signing between universities. Many enterprise representatives have posted project requirements on site, and representatives from the university's scientific research teams undertake key research projects on site."Low Carbon Technology Research Institute of NCUT”was officially unveiled and established. All of which showcased the representative scientific and technological transformation achievements and the cultivation of application-oriented talents, fully demonstrating the new outlook and new actions NCUT has taken in promoting deep integration of industry-institute-research-application, opening a new chapter in serving the development of the capital in the new era.
At the opening ceremony, Zhang Lifeng, Deputy Secretary of the CPC North China University of Technology Committee and President of NCUT , delivered a keynote speech titled “taking root in the west of Beijing, serving for the Capital, writing a new chapter in the construction of high-level applied university”, which comprehensively introduced the vivid practice of promoting the "four deep integration" of the education, talent, innovation , and industry chain, and make it clear the the development direction of the deep integration of Industry-University-Research-Application of the university , towards which the teachers and students are very proud and excited.
NCUT has signed Industry-University-Research cooperation agreements with 18 enterprises and strategic cooperation agreements with over a hundred enterprises, making every effort to create a "new model" of cooperation between universities and enterprises , which has been affirmed and welcomed by the enterprises attending the conference .
The "open competition mechanism to select the best candidate to undertake key research projects" is an important means to strengthen the supply of high-quality technology and overcoming difficulties of transforming scientific and technological achievements. 32 representative projects that have been selected, with many enterprise representatives posting project requirements on site, and representatives from the university's scientific research teams undertaking key research projects on site to help enterprises solve technical problems, invigorating their passion and boosting their confidence to carry out the scientific research that addresses the market demand.
The newly established "Low Carbon Technology Research Institute of NCUT" will focus on implementing the national dual carbon strategy, guiding the university's scientific research force to directly address the industrial needs, integrating the resources of multidisciplinary teachers and research teams, and promoting the implementation of organized scientific research practices of the university.
The Scientific and Technological Achievement Exhibition is presented in various forms including pictures, objects, and roadshows, showcasing nearly 200 key technological achievements from 25 representative scientific research fields. The exhibition includes not only the fields of intelligent transportation, new materials, urban safety and emerging risks ,which are areas of distinctive characteristics and particular strength of the university, but also major emerging technology fields such as energy storage, integrated chips, aerospace, environmental protection testing, smart grid and special power supply. Experts, scholars, and technical expertise from various research teams gave presentations at the roadshow site, having exchanges on professional subjects with enterprise leaders and technical personnel and gave technology an opportunity to get out of the laboratory, setting up direct links between universities and enterprises, technology and capital, supply and demand side.
In the talent cultivation achievement exhibition area, through exhibition boards, objects and digital works, the School of Digital Industry displays the innovative practice of interdisciplinary talent cultivation mechanism and and the digital transformation that addresses the industrial needs, while the "Multidisciplinary Cloud View Integration Laboratory Based on Information Physics Systems"comprehensively presents the "New Engineering" practical activities of the university's digital and intelligent transformation .
Meanwhile, the university held the "graduates employment and internship job fair of science and technology enterprises" , 42 companies including Shougang Group, Beijing Construction Engineering Group, BOE Science and Technology Group brought over 1700 positions for recruitment to the university. The demand for talents covers many areas, such as manufacturing, construction, power, scientific research and technology services, wholesale and retail, information transmission, software and information technology services.
n the afternoon, different schools organized varies of technical innovation sub forums, The participants had in-depth discussions and exchanged ideas on topics such as "full line integration and global ubiquitous exploration of intelligent computing", "optimized operation and resilient control of smart cities", "from material research and development to intelligent manufacturing", "design for the future", "intelligent construction and urban security development", "enterprise Digital transformation and innovative development", "technological empowerment and legal innovation on urban governance ", and "the application of mathematics and statistics in cutting-edge science". The participants have reached consensus ,getting more clear about the direction of technological innovation and further promoting the deep integration of Industry-University-Research.
